As previously mentioned, I am participating in a Moleskine sketchbook exchange. My moly has been named Bella Luna due to the welcome page image I created. Then came Pierrot and the moon [a French children's song] interpreted by Carolina Espinosa, and now Jenn's entry...
I love the surrealism of this...exactly like dreams.
Even though Underground Art School just came out about a week ago, I'm already gearing up for the next one. The issue is about simplicity and back to basics and as the person behind the publication I have to ask myself why is simplicity and complexity important for art students (and creative professionals) to understand? I can't seem to come up with an answer but I do know that confusion will help no one. Maybe I need to ask the question to someone else.

"I’ve been asking myself what my style is for years. I still cannot put it into words, and I do not even know if I have one. I mean, I think I do, but it’s difficult to recognize and verbalize, because style is about doing things that are natural to you. I have a linear style that uses crisp graphic lines, and a more gentle and soft style that I use when I draw with pencils. Through the medium, I have found creative balance. I do know however, what mediums I like to use and why, what subject matters I’m drawn to and why, and the process of combining these is my style. As I change, my style will change. This is the excitement involved in being an artist! I don’t know what my future holds for my style, but I’m committed to exploring and discovering it."
